A Day at the Office Ah, just another day at the office… This is what many of us wish we were saying after a day of poker playing! The program Poker Office makes this dream far more realistic. There are a whole slew of poker statistic tracking programs available, and poker office, specifically their newest version 5.0, is probably my favorite. It has tons of graphs, features, and analysis options that other programs just don’t compare to.

What is it?
In essence, poker office is a program that runs on your computer and tracks all of your poker statistics while you play online. This may sound simple, but you will be astounded at the number of statistics that poker office actually tracks. Not only does it let you know the “simple” stuff (pot odds, odds to hit your draw, percentage of hands won versus hands entered), but also gives you information on the hands that your opponents have played! This is the most valuable asset of all: after all most of your success in poker comes from your knowledge and observation of your opponents. Where else do you win the money from?

Amazing Interface and Unique Features
Poker Office integrates itself directly onto the online poker table that you’re currently playing at. Unlike most other poker programs, Poker Office displays all information in REAL TIME. So, not only will it be helpful for review later on, but you can always use it handily in the current game you are playing. There are many automatic features of the program. For example, it will automatically assign each opponent an aggressiveness level, based upon the player’s activity. It takes into account all sorts of variables–how often the player raises or re-raises, hands they show down, how much they fold etc.

The program also ranks each opponents play in other categories, letting you know valuable information like how likely it is he or she will defend their big blind or raise on the button. It keeps track of all the previous hands, and you can quickly access any important or pertinent hands that a particular opponent has been involved with. Then, when it comes time to make a decision, it will help you again. It displays in an easily accessible fashion statistics that show the probability of what hand your opponent holds. For example, you have to decide whether or not to call a big river bet. Poker Office looks at all the previous hands this particular opponent has played. He showed down one full house, three two pairs, and one bluff in previous similar instances. Based upon this and his aggressiveness rating, the odds that he holds a straight is… or two pair is… or a bluff is…
Well, you get the picture. Obviously, this is extremely useful information to have right at your finger tips when making an important decision!

Post-Game Analysis
Do you ever watch the post-game sports shows? You know, where after a basketball game or football game all the guys in suits sit around and talk about how many stupid mistakes everyone made? Well, Poker Office does this for you as well. Not only does it help you in the heat of the battle by providing critical statistics and information on your opponents, it also helps you after the battle is over! So that, hopefully, you can win the war (make money in the long run!) The most important thing in poker, just like anything else that requires a great deal of time to master, is learning from your mistakes.

Mistakes are valuable–because hopefully once you make them, you won’t make the same ones again. Poker Office takes all the mistakes you make, all the reasons why you loose money, and lets you know what you’re doing wrong. It has an incredibly sophisticated and analytical “brain”, one that can calculate the intricacies of game theory a lot better than any human. So it takes all the information from YOUR game (the same info it was just giving you on your opponents) and tells you all the things you did wrong. I doing this, Poker Office gives me a real chance to examine my game and really rethink my whole strategy at times. It can be a bit of a blow to the pride, but its worth it to win more money!
